January's Great New Imports
Continuing the success of this series, EMI present volume 4 of The Best Arabian Nights Album in The World Ever. As with the previous two releases (there was no volume 2) this album features the biggest hits from the Arabic pop world from the last year. Volume 1 has now sold almost 7k since it's release in March 2002 and Volume 3 is fast catching up with 3.5k since it's release in August 2003. It seems there are a number of Arabic music fans in the UK and they want more... so we're giving it to them!
ELO 2 - ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA (REMASTERED)
ELO 2 was the Electric Light Orchestra's first worldwide hit album, reaching no. 35 in the UK and no. 51 in the USA and similar chart positions throughout the world during 1973. For such a complex album, it was recorded surprisingly quickly, in one or two takes with almost no overdubs. This edition features five previously unreleased tracks and three bonus tracks.

The album has been fully remastered covering each album with at least one song, from each of his albums. The 12 page booklet includes newly written liner notes and a lot of rare photographs.
ASHANTI - CAN'T STOP
"Can't Stop" was written and recorded in 1997 and was set for release approximately one year later. History now shows that this never happened. That is until now. September 2004 saw the tapes back in the studio where, in the hands of Genard Parker and Ernie Lake, they were fully re-mixed and re-mastered using today's latest cutting edge "Pro tools" equipment.and the resulting product is nothing less than pure genius.
TONY CHRISTIE - DEFINITIVE COLLECTION
Tony Christie's profile has been raised over the last year with a connection to Peter Kaye. "Is This The Road To Amarillo" was sung both on Phoenix Nights as well as Jonathan Ross (BBC1). The interest in this track resulted in a hotly tipped number one Christmas single (which was never even scheduled) and rumours are rife regarding a dance remix of the track. The creative for this album draws heavily on an early seventies feel much in the vain of "Music To Watch Girls By" and "The Protectors" (the theme song "Avenues and Alleyways" features). The TV commercial will follow this style, and should appeal to a younger demographic.
NAT KING COLE - WORLD OF NAT KING COLE

LEMONADA - ARABIAN LATIN CHILLOUT EXPERIENCE
Lemonada is actually one Lebanese songwriter/guitarist and producer, Ahmed Ghannoum, working with a variety of musicians and using the soothing female vocals of Layal. Opening with the chilled out "Abali", this song perfectly sets the chilled tone of the album with its fusion of Latin and Arabic beats bringing to mind the music of Bebel Gilberto. "Abali" is follwed by more chilled beats from the love song "Waynak". The album continues in this way until the three remixes at the end: "Zwareeb" and "Jnoon" are remixes of Lemonada's own music, while "Istatilak" is a dance rendition of a classic Farid Al Atrache hit.

WORLD SHUT YOUR MOUTH - OST
Dom Joly, star of Trigger Happy TV, wreaks havoc once more with a show based around situationist pranks, hidden cameras and mischief-making. Trigger Happy TV spawned many imitators, but now the man himself returns to raise the bar. "World Shut Your Mouth" moves the whole genre forward, visually and stylistically ambitious and featuring entirely new characters and set-ups, but all with Joly's recognisable and uniquely absurd sense of humour behind it. In "World Shut Your Mouth", Trigger Happy TV grows up, and becomes aware of the big wide world it lives in. This time the targets are the people and institutions that make up the 21st century establishment. From the Atkins Diet to Harry Potter, Reality TV to celebrity chefs, Britart to Politics, the show takes the stance of a mischievous outsider, targeting anything zeitgeisty that needs a kick in the chops. Each episode will feature regular idented strands and recurring characters, as well as Joly's trademark random acts of comedy.

HARD-FI - CASH MACHINE (ENHANCED)
Hard-Fi are the product of their suburban West London environment; the sound of twenty-something gun-slingers on the minimum wage. It's the sound of a band weaned on the heady concrete glamour of The Clash, Dexys, Curtis Mayfield, and Happy Mondays. In love and in debt - the raw materials required to soundtrack a life of box-fresh Adidas, Berwick Street vinyl, and the black economy. The video for the single is already gaining widespread notoriety, the band having dodged Terminal 3 security to spend two hours performing 30ft below incoming planes at the arse-end of the main Heathrow runway - the kind of 'guerrilla gig' that makes The Libertines' best efforts come off like a public school fete.
