Hacking Your DVD Player
As we've previously mentioned in this blog, many of the import DVDs offered
on www.VibrantSound.com are in PAL format and for those of us in the United
States, this can present a bit of a problem. However, there are ways around
this region formatting issue. A DVD player that we've used is from
www.yamakawa.de and it has played every DVD we've ever put into it without
any problems. It is a relatively inexpensive DVD player and is very
attractive with a small footprint (that means it is not very big). Although
it has an Asian-sounding name, the company is actually in Germany and if you
can afford one ($50.00 or less), then we recommend it. Another workaround
to this problem is to search in your favorite search engine for your DVD
player and enter PAL after it. For instance, go to www.google.com and enter
your DVD player model number (in quotes if your model has a dash in it) and
PAL. It takes some research by reading the results from other owners who
have forced their DVD players to play all DVDs. As always, thank you for
choosing www.VibrantSound.com. Daniel
